Colorado Voting Location and Outreach Tool

Developed by the Center for Inclusive Democracy (CID) at the University of Southern California, this interactive web-based mapping tool is designed to assist Colorado elections offices in the state’s 64 counties. Encompassing all legislated siting criteria, the Voting Location and Outreach Tool aids election officials in the Voter Service and Polling Center (VSPC)) siting process by producing suggested VSPC location areas for a half-mile grid in the state's most populated counties.

This user-friendly web-based mapping tool identifies areas where VSPCs would likely have the most success serving voters. This tool inputs all legislated criteria and demographic data to produce suggested locations on a half-mile grid. Colorado county clerks using their local knowledge are then able to find specific locations for consideration in these areas.

The Voter Service and Polling Center Siting Tool is now the Voting Location and Outreach Tool!
CID recently updated the Colorado Voting Location and Outreach Tool for the 2022 general election. Please see the What's New page for detailed information.

About The Tool

The Voting Location and Outreach Tool aids election officials in the siting process by identifying optimal voting locations for half-mile grid squares across the county. Election officials are able to find specific locations for consideration in these areas using local knowledge of their county’s resources and needs. The Voting Location and Outreach Tool also provides visualization of demographic and voter data at the community level in all counties. These local data can be used to inform voter outreach and education efforts.

Note: The Tool sites the number of voting locations in the most recent comparable election publicly disclosed by the county elections office. The Voting Location and Outreach Tool’s purpose is to model the location of voting sites based on the number of sites that a county is required to provide, not to suggest what number of voting locations best serves a community.
